MASTERSON STUDY GROUP IN WALNUT CREEK

A Masterson Consultation Group in Walnut Creek currently has an opening. The Masterson Approach is a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapeutic approach to the treatment of clients with Borderline, Narcissistic, and Schizoid Disorders. This approach to treating self disorders was developed by pioneer James F. Masterson, M.D. and integrates attachment theory, neuro-affective science, and contemporary developmental theory. Interventions are designed to be empathically attuned to the client’s real self. The Purpose of the group is to introduce clinicians to the Masterson Approach through assigned readings, group discussions and case presentations by group members. Emphasis is on differential diagnosis and treatment interventions. Group membership is limited to 6 individuals. 16 CEU’s are available for those members completing 8 sessions.
